To join, come to a meeting!
Salt Lake Home Educators is a group for providing information and support for homeschoolers regardless of race, religion or educational styles. Our group strives to provide in-person support to one another, so we maintain our monthly meetings as one of our primary activities. The group also has a yahoo group for planning other events, clubs, field trips, and whatever else people are interested in. To keep our focus on friendship and in-person support, we ask that you come see us at a meeting and then we'll get you into the yahoo group.
See you at the meeting!
Hello! My name is DJ Jones and I'm teaching voice lessons here in Salt Lake and the valley. I have family involved in home school programs and I know that it is a tight knit community. I would love to offer my services to any of your members that would be interested in them! If you're interested you can reach me at djjonesvoiceinstruction@gmail.com or through my facebook page www.facebook.com/djjonesvoiceinstruction. Thanks and have a good one!
ReplyDeleteHello! My name is Natalie, and I am SO HAPPY I found you! ;0) I need someone to talk to me about what to do next! I will come to the meeting on Wed night. I have been reading, studying, wondering, worrying about homeschooling, and now I feel STUCK. Hopefully some of you can help me out on Wednesday night.
ReplyDelete(P.S. do any of you bring your husbands? Should I bring mine this time around? Or will he feel like he is the only guy at a women-only retreat? hahahaha)
Husbands are definitely welcome! He may be the only guy, as it is mostly moms who come, but we're supporting homeschooling *families*. It is fantastic to be able to ask questions of moms who are in the thick of homeschooling. I'll see you at the meeting!
ReplyDeleteJust heard about this group through some other homeschoolers and can't wait for the January meeting! We're new to this and are so excited to meet others who have chosen this path. Are the meetings generally adults with no kids?
ReplyDeleteIs this group still active? I am having a hard time getting in touch with anyone in a home school group and I'm just trying to make contact with anyone...
ReplyDeleteSarah- did you ever get a response? I can put you in touch with home school groups if you are still looking.

ReplyDeleteHi! How do we get people together for the kids to have social time? My son said today that he misses school because he could play. I need to get him around others so it doesn't make it a bad experience for him.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, SLHE has stopped meeting. There are many yahoo and Facebook groups in the area - a pretty good starting point is the UHEA page for support groups - http://uhea.com/2012-05-15-17-30-41. Let me know where you live and I may be able to suggest a few.
